AB Dynamics

Background

Formed in 1982, AB Dynamics is the world’s leading producer of automotive test systems - supplying to 25 of the largest car manufacturing companies. They produce self-driving robots which attach to cars allowing them to drive themselves around a test track with algorithms (including an AI component) facilitating the avoidance of obstacles and other cars.

Problem

A number of AB Dynamics clients have asked if their self-drive capability can be integrated into the car itself in order to provide a self-drive capability for those manufacturers. However, AB Dynamics software is not compliant to standards such as MISRA and ISO26262. Nor do they have an inhouse capability.

Solution

TEKTowr did the following:

• Reviewed their source code for MISRA-C compliance - identifying a number of critical faults within their algorithms.

• Developed a cost-effective strategy to achieve ISO26262 compliance.

• Developed some early test-automation tooling based on Jenkins Continuous-Integration / Continuous Deployment

Outcomes

TEKTowr won further work as AB Dynamics development and verification partner for the ISO26262 roll-out.
